A Teacher Wrote "Absolutely Pathetic" On A Second Graders Paper

New Orleans Evacuees Slowly Assimilate Into Houston Area

I must say, my wife and I are fortunate that our experience thus far with teachers here in the Hudson Valley has been great. Unlike this story. A gentleman from Pennsylvania was simply appalled when he saw a comment written in red ink on his son’s recent second-grade test. He was so taken back by the comments that he posted in on social media and is calling for this teacher’s resignation.

The second-grade class, for kids aged between seven and eight, had been asked to solve as many subtraction problems in three minutes as they could.

When marking the work, the teacher wrote: "Absolutely pathetic he answered 13 in 3 min! Sad.” The post went viral and has sparked an online campaign calling for the teacher to be fired. The petition has now attracted more than 16,000 signatures on Change.org.

The school board is now understood to be investigating. Image © 2019 GettyImages
