Vasectomy Cakes Are Now A Thing (???)

We’re used to seeing cakes celebrating happy events like birthdays, baby showers, weddings and more, but these days cakes are being used to celebrate some things folks would usually only talk about in private. Namely, vasectomies.

Apparently more and more bakers across the country are being asked to make funny cakes celebrating a man getting snipped, and thanks to social media these cakes are going viral. For example, Signature Desserts in Tennessee recently went viral with their cake that read, “100% JUICE NO SEEDS HAPPY VASECTOMY,” with two hand-painted lemons.

"It's not every day that somebody wants a humorous, edgy cake," Nate Clingman who owns the business with his wife, Jillian, tells "USA Today." "It blew up very quickly and I was surprised."

With about 500,000 vasectomies performed in the U.S. each year, these cakes could be big business for bakers. Other vasectomy-themed cakes include ones with messages like “Snip Snip Hooray,” “I just retired the swim team,” and “no more baby in the gravy,” as well as a 3D Mr. Peanut with a bandage and even more anatomically correct cakes.

“There’s definitely a market for it,” Lynn Light, owner of Ohio’s Wicked Cakes, said. “People are finding different ways to find the humor and celebrate some of the more awkward things in life.” Check out some of the vasectomy cakes here.
