Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival - What A Weekend!

Just a few pictures to give you an idea, in case you were unable to get up to the Dutchess County Fairgrounds for the 27th annual Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival presented by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

I took this picture Sunday morning just after 6:00 a.m., the time of the first scheduled Sunday launch.  The breeze was very slight, so the balloons rose and then stayed over the Fairgrounds--what a spectacle.  Pictures just can't do it justice.

Our buddy, J Will from KISSFM, representing Q92 (see the banner on the side of the basket?) went up for a ride.  Okay, yes, because Michelle and I prefer to keep our feet on the ground.  Thank you, J, for the reports from various points as you sailed over the countryside.

One of the most unique balloons was PEA-NUT.  Hardly peanut-size.  PEA-NUT is 37 feet tall and 38 feet wide!

Thank you to the Chamber for the tremendous! amount of time, effort and love for this community that went into planning and executing a spectacular event which just gets better every year.  Chamber President, Frank Castella, Jr., is pictured above.

Special thanks, also, to all the sponsors!  You'll find a roster of all their logos here.
