Today we pedal back in time to the mid-1980's to an evening at Monticello Raceway. Here we see Rich Ball and me taking part in one of the annual radio station promotions held at the track, all dressed up in our official jockey uniforms, racing our specially prepared bicycle built for two, complete with a big cardboard wing, many colorful helium balloons and baseball cards in the spokes. Let me tell you, pedaling in the soft dirt of the track is work for real men. Nevertheless, despite our valiant efforts, every muscle at our disposal, and the customized racing set-up on our bicycle, we did not fare very well. What you don't see here are the other participants in the race who were already back in the barn. We finished, which about sums the whole thing up as far as I'm concerned.
