Michelle, Cameron, and I stayed overnight at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel so we could be certain we'd make it to work in the morning (to tell you to stay home). As it happens, the Poughkeepsie Grand is also the home-away-from-home for a large number of mutual aid crews from all over the country and I think from Canada too, who are assisting Central Hudson crews restore power after the last snow storm and now this one.
When Michelle, Cameron and I went outside to go on Facebook Live Wednesday evening during the storm, we encountered two hardy gentleman from Oklahoma City who were on their way down the street to have dinner. Well, one thing led to another, and a video featuring a very brief sing-along, resulted. You can see it here.
You may be interested to know that one man told me he had never been East and how beautiful! he thought the Hudson Valley was. It was great meeting many of these crew members. (Michelle commented the lobby looked like a Carhartt commercial was being filmed.) Thanks to all of them! Not easy work, for sure.
