I've called off the search party! Charlotte was taking out the garbage when she heard a rustle in the yard and looked to make sure the garter snakes hadn't awakened prematurely because of the warm weather on Wednesday. And, along the wall, what should she see but my smart key! (also, no snakes). It must have been under snow that had melted. I probably dropped it when I was shoveling. Anyway, I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that it was found. It still works and I plan to attach it to a bowling ball so I don't lose it again.
