Joe North, Band and Chorus Director at Poughkeepsie High School, is very popular with his students, and two of them, Erik Ramos and Kyeshawn Hinds, wrote us to nominate Mr. North for the Q92 Teacher of the Month Award. It was plain to see why! Nothing like learning to play music or sing from a teacher who communicates not only the how-to's, but the passion as well! (Michelle and I were a little jealous because we don't sing in a chorus, but you never know what could happen in the future . . . )
We enjoyed a wonderful visit with Mr. North, some of his students, his wife and parents, as well as the Principal, Mrs. Phee Simpson, and members of the staff. Mr. North received a number of gifts, including a nice plaque, a $100 gift card to use for the class, compliments of TEG Federal Credit Union, a $100 gift card from Cosimo's in Poughkeepsie, a delicious treat from Edible Arrangements in Poughkeepsie, and more.
