North Chatham, NY (October 23, 2025) – As heating season begins, join us as North Chatham Fire Department Fire Chief Al Gawron discusses simple safety steps that can save your family and residence!
“One of the most important steps to take in fire protection is to have your heating system evaluated to ensure it is working properly – be it furnaces, wood burning stoves, boiler/radiator and hybrid systems.” said Gawron. “ Additionally, inspecting and cleaning chimneys and stove pipes to ensure they are free of creosote buildup is key to maintain the safety of your system.”
Perhaps you own a fire extinguisher, but do you know how to use it? Do you know what steps to take should a fire break out in your home?
Chief Gawron will address your questions and provide some practical tips.
Reservations are not required.
This event is made possible by the Live & Learn Committee with grateful thanks to the Berkshire Taconic Foundation for funding.
