The Marist Women's Basketball team will play Canisius on February 11 at 7:00 in the McCann Arena with a halftime salute to the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and local breast cancer survivors.

"This is our ninth Play4Kay game with the Marist Women's Basketball team and each year brings joy and recognition to breast cancer survivors in our Hudson Valley," reported Miles of Hope Executive Director, Pari Forood. (see photo)

"Some of the survivors who join us are in treatment and some are 25 years from their surgery and immediate recovery. We are honored that Marist has chosen our foundation to partner with to showcase these brave and strong women and men. We are also able to bring awareness to the prevalence of this disease to the general public and stress the importance of preventive services like annual mammograms," Ms. Forood explained.

"During the height of the pandemic, people were not receiving preventive services like mammograms. As a result, we are now seeing later stage cancer diagnoses which are more problematic to treat. Miles of Hope, helping people in treatment, their families, colleagues and neighbors, is needed now more than ever," she added.
