Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino has announced the opening of nominations for the Classroom Champions award, which recognizes exceptional teachers in the area. This initiative aims to celebrate educators who make a significant impact on their students and foster positive learning environments.
According to Dutchess County's official website, students attending schools within the county are encouraged to nominate teachers who have made a meaningful difference in their lives. The nominations are due by Monday, May 19.
In a statement, County Executive Sue Serino expressed her gratitude for the hard work and dedication of local educators. "Our teachers continue to go above and beyond to find innovative and creative ways to educate our local students, and we are so grateful for the work they do," she said. Serino highlighted the invaluable role teachers play, whether through classroom engagement, coaching, or mentorship.
The Classroom Champions award is part of Dutchess County's efforts to honor teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, which was celebrated from Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 10. Students and families are encouraged to submit their nominations online or contact the county for more information.
