Prince Harry, Meghan Markle & The Queen Support Black Lives Matter Protests

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared their joint support for the Black Lives Matter movement following the nationwide protests against police brutality. Their statement was released through the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which is overseen by Her Majesty and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Meghan was even appointed Vice President of the Commonwealth Trust last year.

The Queen's Commonwealth Trust champions, funds and connects young leaders "working hard to change the world." The network of young advocates and changemakers are aided and encouraged by the trust to make strides towards a better future across the world. The trust, as well as the advocates they support, believe change can be made anywhere, by anyone who is willing to do the work.

“Young people are vital voices in the fight against injustice and racism around the world. As a global community of young leaders, we stand together in pursuit of fairness and a better way forward. Silence is not an option. #BlackLivesMatter,” their statement reads. The Queen's Commonwealth Trust also shared an image of a Martin Luther King Jr. quote that reads "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

In a follow up tweet, the trust expanded on their initial statement. “We all have the power to effect positive change. It is time to speak up and speak out,” the follow up reads. “Time to have uncomfortable conversations with ourselves and with others. Time to educate ourselves and unlearn. Time to come together and build a better future as one. #TeamQCT.”

Harry and Meghan, who are currently residing in Beverly Hills, have not yet released a personal statement about the protests.
