Keep Looking for the Silver Linings

These days have provided a perfect opportunity to practice staying in the present.

"Presently" I am Spring cleaning and painting. I use my favorite cleaner--car wash (removes dirt and scuffs, but not the wax or finish). Some things I've cleaned with a weak solution of car wash in water turned out not to even need paint. Not that you should think things looked really awful before, but fingermarks and scuffs and tiny spills show up and need to be removed before painting. (Charlotte made me say that.) Anyway, cleaning and painting are activities I've always enjoyed. They totally absorb my attention and calms my wandering mind, especially painting. And when I've cleaned or painted something and look at it, it makes me smile. When the girls were small I probably overdid the "Don't put your hands on the door! Use the doorknob" routine, but that's something else that has calmed down. Everyone, including Charlotte, is happy about that.

On another note, I came across this video. It's very short but definitely will make you smile. I thought I'd share it.

I'll "see" you Saturday. Keep looking for the many silver linings--they ARE there.
