Criss Angel Reveals 5-Year-Old Son Johnny’s Cancer Has Returned

Criss Angel revealed his 5-year-old son Johnny’s cancer has returned again.

The illusionist shared the unfortunate news on Wednesday (December 4) when he was approached by TMZ. “He got diagnosed with pediatric cancer before he was 2 years old, he’s been in treatment for over three years,” the 51-year-old revealed. “He’s been in remission, but unfortunately he had a relapse and he’s going back into the hospital on Monday.”

Apart from Johnny’s appointment, Angel said he and his wife Shaunyl Benson have planned fun Disney trip for their baby boy. “We’re partly out here in California because we take Johnny to Disney,” he revealed. “I’m taking him to Universal tomorrow.”

The couple, who also share 10-month-old son Xristos, previously revealed Johnny was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia one year after his birth, in 2015.

In 2016, the Mindfreak author announced Johnny was “technically in remission” and on his road to recovery. He opened up about the emotional experience of witnessing his child endure daily chemotherapy procedures the following year, admitting to Us Weekly at the time: “I wish that I could take that disease and let him be free of it. No child should have to go through what he’s going through.”

“He’s just a great, very bright, very happy boy that unfortunately has to go through a horrible experience,” he added. “But he’s doing as well as he can do and he’s a really tough little boy.”

We’re sending our thoughts to Angel and his family at this unfortunate time.
