Airlines have already made $1.3 billion in baggage fees this year

If you were hoping airlines would one day get rid of their baggage fees, you’re basically dreaming. That’s because these fees are bringing in the big bucks for airlines.

According to Department of Transportation data, the airline industry has already collected $1.3 billion in baggage fees this year, which is up from $1.1 billion this time last year.

The increased money is due to rising fees, with four major airlines increasing their fees last year.
