Gus Kenworthy Takes It Off To Sell Merch For HIV/AIDS Awareness

Gus Kenworthy's newest thirst trap on Instagram has good intention behind it.

Just last week, the 27-year-old Olympic freeskier took to Instagram to announce that he's teamed up with PopSockets to design LGBTQ Pride-related "Be True" PopGrips. "This photo is to show off my new @popsockets grip and THAT IS ALL!!! Don't @ me!" he jokingly captioned the shirtless bathroom selfie from Denver, Colorado. "Honestly though, I'm very excited because the PopGrips that I designed are finally available!" Kenworthy also detailed that 50% of the proceeds from the PopGrips collaboration will go to his current AIDS/LifeCycle campaign. Two options from the team-up are currently available for purchase at $15 per item. Click here for more information on the collab!

Kenworthy previously pledged to raise $1 million in his first AIDS/LifeCycle ride, an annual bike riding event from San Francisco to Los Angeles in June. He's currently in the running with more than $55,000 in raised donations.

Back in October, Kenworthy made news when he reflected on his historic move to come out of the closet in his ESPN The Magazine cover story. "I feel like most of my fears were unnecessary, and I think that tends to be the case with people who are in the closet," Kenworthy admitted in an interview with Variety. "I was scared because our whole income was based on sponsorships, and you get sponsors based off your image. I thought there wasn’t a place for a gay guy in my sport. There had never been one before me. I came out, and it was the opposite of what I expected. I was the most endorsed athlete at the Olympics…"
