A Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a Toyota sedan “speeding and driving recklessly” just before 8 a.m. yesterday in Key Largo; he turned on his lights and siren, but the driver didn’t stop until miles later.

While the driver, 19-year-old Janiya Shaimiracle Douglas, was being arrested on a charge of fleeing and eluding, she told the deputy that getting arrested had been on her bucket list since high school.

Police might want to ask for a peek at that list just to know what to look out for in the future.
