Newburgh Mall gaming has support of Orange County Partnership

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – The video gaming casino proposed for the Newburgh Mall has gained the support of the Orange County Partnership.
The organization’s president, Maureen Halahan, said it will mean benefits for local government as well as Resorts World Catskills, the parent facility in Sullivan County.
“This new VLT gaming project in the Town of Newburgh is going to provide a tremendous amount of tax rateables for Newburgh and the county. It is going to be able to institute the license that is extraordinarily important to Resorts World and the gaming world, and it is going to put a lot of people to work,” she said.
The facility, to be located in the former Bon-Ton department store space, is expected to breathe new life into the stagnant mall.
