Vassar Brothers Medical Center changes visitation rules

POUGHKEEPSIE – Due to a decline of COVID-19 in the community, Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie has begun limited visitation for inpatients, effective Tuesday, March 9.
Inpatients without suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are allowed one support person per day for up to four hours. Visitors must remain in the patient’s room for the entire visit and follow the hospital’s personal protective equipment guidelines. Daily visitation hours are from 2 p. m. to 6 p.m.
Visitation remains restricted in the emergency department and for patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, unless the patient is under age 21, a maternity patient, or if extenuating circumstances apply.
