Orange County Legislature approves funding for independent audit of IDA

GOSHEN – The Orange County Legislature wants to know how the Industrial Development Agency and its associated organizations have been spending their money so it has funded up to $20,000 to have an independent audit conducted.
The study would look into the IDA, Orange County Funding Corporation and the Accelerator program, said County Legislator Jimmy O’Donnell.
“Over the course of the last six, seven years, a lot of money has been spent there and we just want to make sure we are getting a good return on our investment for the taxpayers of Orange County,” he said.
The CEO of the organizations, Laurie Villasuso, said, “The IDA hasn’t received any correspondence related to a potential audit. However, as a transparent organization, all of our prior audits and related information are always available at ocnyida.com.”
