Dinosaurs expected to roam again in Orange County

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Dinosaurs that roamed across Orange County millions of years ago, may return next year when a dinosaur park is created.
Similar to parks in New Jersey and Connecticut, a developer wants to establish a park with life-sized dinosaurs that move and make noise.
Wallkill Town Supervisor Frank DanDento said the park will complement the other tourist attractions in the region.
“You could spend some time at Legoland and there is, of course, West Point and Bear Mountain from a naturalist standpoint, and then obviously going into the Valley a little bit there are the wine trails and as you move up going toward the Resort World casino, it would be an excellent stop, and of course, a compliment to the hotel hub that we already occupy, to have another attraction in the town,” he said.
The property being eyed for the park is in the northern part of Wallkill near exit 116 on Route 17.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus, who has been working with DanDento in an effort to bring the park to the region, said it would be a perfect fit with all of the other tourist attractions in the region.
