Maloney secures funding for Hudson Valley Regional Airport

DUTCHESS COUNTY – On Wednesday, Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) and Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro announced that Dutchess County has been awarded a $624,106 Federal Aviation Administration grant, administered through the U.S. Department of Transportation. Dutchess County will use the funds to reconstruct airfield guidance signs at the Hudson Valley Regional Airport.

“As we recover from this pandemic, we’re working to build our economy and communities back better than before. That will take federal investment in new construction projects that create meaningful jobs. I’m proud that the transportation and infrastructure funding I fought for in the CARES Act is helping support this important project at the Hudson Valley Regional Airport in Dutchess County, and will continue to advocate for the state and local funding and federal assistance our counties so desperately need right now,” said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.

“Hudson Valley Regional Airport attracts tens of thousands of takeoffs and landings each year, bringing with them fuel sales that provide Dutchess County important revenue that offset taxes for County taxpayers. We have invested in recent years to make our Hudson Valley Regional Airport an even more vital resource, and we appreciate Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney for his support in obtaining this grant which will further enhance our asset and benefit the residents of Dutchess County,” said Marc Molinaro, County Executive of Dutchess County.

The grant is supported in part by funds made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Rep. Maloney helped pass in March. The additional funds from the CARES Act ensure the federal government share of the project covers 100 percent of the project cost.

The grant funds will be used to reconstruct 81 of the existing airfield guidance signs to meet standards established by the Federal Aviation Administration.
