WALLKILL – A victim is in Garnet Health Medical Center (formerly Orange Regional) in serious condition after being shot at the Valero gas station at 28 Carpenter Avenue in Wallkill.
Police responded to the location in the early minutes of Tuesday morning. Police declined to give a motive for the shooting and would not say if the victim is a male or female.
Police radio traffic indicated that police were looking for at least two female subjects, possibly teenagers.
A City of Newburgh police K9 was brought to the area to provide assistance.
The shooting occurred just outside the City of Middletown where, on Saturday night, a Middletown police officer and a suspect exchanged gunfire, sending both to the hospital with wounds.
