·Updated guidance has been released by the state clarifying that because our region is in Phase 3, barber shops and hair salons no longer need to test their employees every 14 days. However, if there is a spike in cases and we are rolled back to Phase 2, that requirement can be reimposed.

·Additional Phase 4 guidance has been released. Businesses permitted to reopen in Phase 4 include higher education, low-risk outdoor arts and entertainment, low-risk indoor arts and entertainment, and media production. The list of what is considered part of those business categories has been expanded. We are on target to reach this Phase on or about July 7. Phase 4 guidance can be found HERE.

You must follow these steps to be prepared to reopen:

1.Go to the NY Forward website HERE

2.Click on “Phase Three Guidance.”

3.Select your industry by scrolling down on the left side navigation bar.

4.Click on and read “View Summary Guidelines” for your industry.

5.Click on and read “Read and Affirm the Detailed Guidelines” for your industry, and then click the link at the bottom of the page orHEREto complete the form and hit submit.

6.Click on “Print Business Safety Plan Template” for your industry, and then print and fill out the template, and keep on file at your place of business.

7.Implement the Safety Plan.

·Two clusters of COVID-19 cases have been found in upstate New York, leading to the state to take action in those two areas. This is the type of action businesses can expect if they do not remain vigilant and a hot-spot is created. You can read about the actions taken HERE.
