NEWBURGH – At a time when every penny counts in municipal income, the City of Newburgh has contracted with a company to conduct a parking meter expansion feasibility study.
At a cost of $30,300, the city has hired Kimley Horn of New York, PC to provide professional parking study services that include a review of the city’s current parking program and parking management strategies, make recommendations for potential parking meter expansion, and provide advice on requests for proposal with respect to parking meter installations.
Newburgh currently maintains a single space, on-street parking meter program along Broadway, and no meter program in its municipal parking lots or along the waterfront.
The study will look at maximizing parking revenues based on growing levels of parking demand.
