I truly feel that the way the spoon is shaped, it definitely helps when stirring the pasta, breaking up the strands in the pot of boiling water. Also, when scooping the pasta from the pot on to the plate, this style of spoon comes in handy, BUT why is there a hole in the middle of the spoon? Why....? It's for measuring a portion of pasta, and putting it into the pot. Portioning is always great, and it helps with dropping the pasta into a pot of boiling water and avoid getting splashed!
