Friday was the kickoff of the 16th Annual Coat Drive at Mid-Hudson Subaru in Wappingers Falls, as well as the start of Q92's switch to being the Hudson Valley's Christmas Station. Both the Coat Drive and the Holiday Music continue right through the entire Holiday Season. You can drop off your new or gently used coats at Mid-Hudson Subaru. And, of course, you can also tune into Q29 anytime you want, including on our iHeartRadio app, which means you can listen anywhere you go, even over the river and through the woods.
We thank all of you who have already donated a coat, and we want to give a big thank you to Mid-Hudson Subaru and all the other sponsors who make this event possible. A lot of work goes into such a massive outreach. Many people sort and distribute the coats as well--no small task, as you might imagine.
We also extend a BIG thank you! to . . .
. . . our musical performers from Friday night's festivities, including the Bishop Dunn Memorial School Holiday Choir, the wonderful vocalist MaryKay Messenger, the Aerophone Community Band and, pictured above, musician, singer and very jolly person, Vito Petroccitto. Despite the cold and wind they were all just terrific, and I'm sure everyone left filled with Holiday Spirit and that warm feeling that comes from sharing with others.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers, including the Girl Scouts and members of the Rotary Clubs, including Keith Hunter, pictured here taking another bundle of coats to the sorting and distribution area. Thank you, Uncle Mike, for your technical assistance, and Felicia Kirschner and the entire Q Crew for all their hard work organizing and orchestrating the event from planning through execution.
Every year Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus stop in and spend time visiting and taking photos with the children. Peter Maher, owner of Mid-Hudson Subaru, pictured above, always glows with happiness from the goodwill and merriment that abounds on that evening.
So keep your eye out for any more coats you may have, (spread the word!), and if you'd like to see some more pictures and videos from Friday's event, you can visit our Facebook page here.
