A Bride Asks Her Four Grandmas To Be Her Flower Girls

A bride in Tennessee decided to break tradition for her wedding by passing on using little kids for her flower girls and asking four grandmothers to do it instead. Lyndsey Raby had her two grandmas, her great-grandma, and her new husband Tanner’s grandmother share flower girl duties when she recently tied the knot.

The grandmas, 90-year-old Kathleen Brown, 70-year-old Joyce Raby, 76-year-old Wanda Grant, and 72-year-old Betty Brown, were happy to be part of the nuptials and all wore matching blue lace dresses with jackets for the occasion. They all carried little white bags filled with white rose petals to scatter down the aisle and the photographer captured how much they enjoyed doing the job.

“I was not expecting the level of sass that these girls brought,” explains wedding photographer Natalie Caho.

The bride says her flower grannys were more excited than her bridesmaids and she encourages other couples to include grandparents in their weddings. “It means so much to them and it will mean so much more to you,” Lyndsey says.
