Firefighters Calm Young Girl After Crash By Letting Her Paint Their Nails

At the scene of a car accident, two Utah firefighters noticed a “very scared” little girl who was holding bottles of nail polish. She was screaming and crying, but was just upset, not hurt, so while her mother got medical attention, the firefighters offered to let her paint their nails to help her calm down.

The North Davis Fire District of West Point shared a photo of Shift Battalion Chief Allen Hadley and Captain Kevin Lloyd showing off their new pink and purple nails on its Facebook page. The department explained that they distracted her by letting her give them manicures and within minutes she was doing their nails instead of focusing on the accident.

"Kudos to these great guys that serve our community,” Fire Chief Mark Becraft commented, “it's just the little things that make a huge difference."
