Arlington High School Marching Band - State Champs!

Great news, everyone!  We learned yesterday that for the third year in a row, the Arlington High School Marching Band walked away (marched away!) with the First Place Trophy!! (Governor's Cup) in the National Class from the New York State Field Band Conference Championship.  This from among 53! high school marching bands from New York State who were competing!  What a terrific spectacle this competition must have been.  Nothing like a marching band to get you going.

Congratulations to the Arlington Admirals, their families, and of course Band Director Darrell Keech, Assistant Band Directors Evan Rzodkiewicz and Lynda Keech, and Color Guard Director Albert Cousins.

I can't think of marching bands and not think of one of my favorite movies, "The Music Man."  Might be time to dig that one out and watch it again.  For some reason, I'm suddenly in the mood for it.
