Guy Bought an Auto Insurance Policy …26 Minutes AFTER He Crashed His Car

He might’ve had a chance if he borrowed Doc Brown’s DeLorean Time Machine …like Biff did.

The state of Washington recently charged a guy for insuring his car less than half-an-hour AFTER he crashed it.

The crash happened in 2019. His 2004 Nissan wasn't insured when he hit another driver. So he quickly got on the horn with Progressive to add the car to an existing policy he had. Then he filed a claim.

The fact that he'd JUST signed up was a big red flag. So someone at Progressive called the local police and found out the crash was reported 26 minutes before he added the policy.

They denied his claim of $3,700, and police charged him with insurance fraud.

Stories like this might be more common than you'd think, because they also released details on two other incidents that happened recently . . .

Back in 2020, a woman in Washington re-upped her insurance after it lapsed, and called to file a claim 42 minutes later. It turned out she'd been in a wreck 14 minutes before her policy was renewed.

And last year, some guy claimed the Volvo he'd just purchased got vandalized. But it turned out the damage was already there when he bought the car. Both of those people also got charged with insurance fraud. So think twice, yo.
