Suspect in shooting at NJ federal judge’s home killed himself in Liberty

LIBERTY – A man who shot himself to death in the Town of Liberty is believed to have been the person who sot and killed a New Jersey federal judge’s son and wounded her husband in their New Brunswick home Sunday, several New York City media are reporting.

The shooting had gone up to the front door of Judge Esther Salas and when her 20-year-old son answered, he fatally shot him and then wounded her husband.

New York State Trooper Steven Nevel, the Troop F spokesman, confirmed there was a suicide, but said if there is a link to the New Jersey shooting, the FBI would handle that.

A spokeswoman for the FBI would not comment on the situation, saying it was an ongoing investigation.
