City of Beacon to Distribute Fabric Face Coverings Manufactured by Hanes Brands, Inc.

BEACON, NY – In another extraordinary measure of the best of humanity, the Dutchess County Emergency Management team is making fabric face coverings, manufactured by Hanes Brands, Inc.  Each municipality in Dutchess County has been provided two boxes, containing 100 five-packs of washable fabric masks in each box. The masks will be distributed to municipal staff members, local businesses and organizations, as well as within the City of Beacon for essential staff to use (i.e. grocery stores, convenience stores, gas stations, food delivery, etc.).

Any business or organization who employ essential staff and are located within the City of Beacon may contact Collin Milone, Assistant to the Mayor at (845) 8385010 or email him at cityofbeacon@cityofbeacon.org in order to coordinate a time for pick-up.

County Executive Marcus Molinaro said, “We encourage local businesses and organizations to take advantage of these cloth face coverings for their staff.  Social distancing and face coverings help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and each of us must do all we can to keep ourselves and others safe.”

Mayor Lee Kyriacou said, “With the Executive Order from the Governor that essential employees interacting with the public must be provided face coverings, this public private partnership is a continued example of the American spirit.”
