Long Before Air Force One, Presidents Rode This Train

Old trains have such a mystique to begin with.  But this special train car, the Ferdinand Magellan, officially known as U.S. Car Number 1, was used by Presidents Roosevelt and Truman.  Do you remember learning about Truman's famous Whistle Stop Tour?  It was made in this railway car!  In this video you'll see the inside, and have a tour of some of the security features, such as bullet-proof steel.  It's very interesting.  U.S. Car Number 1 is on display at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Florida (in case you need an idea for the family vacation this year).
