Backstage with "America's Irish Tenor"

Despite the severe thunderstorms and high winds on Saturday, hundreds of people turned out at the Paramount Theater in Middletown to enjoy the stories and music of Ronan Tynan.  As the emcee for the evening, I had the pleasure of  speaking with Ronan before the show.  He is a very interesting man indeed.

The Walden Rotary Club will use the money raised from this event to continue funding community projects in Orange County.  For example, in 2009 they built the gazebo stage in Wooster Grove in Walden; in 2013 they purchased and installed the walk-in freezer for the Montgomery Food Pantry; and this year they will build the stage for the Village of Maybrook Senior Center.  That is just a small sample of the many things they do, living up to the Rotary Motto, "Service Above Self."  Definitely words we'd all do well to live by!

Thank you, all the members of the Walden Rotary Club, for inviting me to participate in this year's concert.

And, by the way, if you've never been to the historic Paramount Theater in Middletown, it's something you should definitely put on your list--the place is just beautiful, and the staff delightful, as well.
